With instructors who are themselves innovators, classes will offer opportunities for children to collaborate, make mistakes, and find unique solutions in the world around them.

Makers is a place for young artists to gather and spend time working with graphite, charcoal, markers, and other mark-making tools. Club members will practice expressing themselves by working through a variety of drawing and mark-making techniques.
During the semester, the artists will explore elements of line, depth, value, light sources, composition, and more. I will introduce new concepts and allow for practice before opening the studio for “free draw” at the close of class. Each new technique will be supplemented with examples from famous artists, personal work, and by exploring examples in the world around us.
New techniques, materials, and aspects of art will be introduced or reinforced as the students are ready. Therefore, the schedule is flexible and will follow what the students are interested in.
